I’m excited to share these beautiful Hinsdale family photos of my sweet friend Abbie and her family! I couldn’t be happier with how these photos turned out. 🙂
Abbie is a great friend and fellow Chicago photographer. She specializes in maternity, newborn, and family photography and I adore the photos she’s taken of my own family!
The warm autumn light was so pretty! We got lucky with a gorgeous day early in the season.
Abbie is a ballet dancer and her daughter recently started taking lessons! I couldn’t resist asking them to dance and twirl together!

Take a look at the clothing choices here! They are really deliberate not just from a coordination perspective, but also to shape the look of the entire image. They chose lighter colors which means less contrast in the image, and small patterns, which are less visually distracting.

I have no good words. It’s all gorgeous – the subjects, location, and light!
A perfect toddler airplane! Another wonderful part of the neutral-colored outfit choices is that is actually puts more emphasis on the subjects! The clothing was chosen to be low-contrast and low-distraction so your attention as your eye scans the photo goes to the faces and stays there, rather than bouncing from one high-contrast spot to another on the image!
I absolutely love this serene photo of Dad and daughter watching the river! I love catch a few quiet images of each relationship as well as higher energy portraits!
