Sharing today some beautiful Northwestern graduation portraits! For her photoshoot, first my client and I took photos at the Northwestern University Pritzker campus in downtown Chicago. Then, we followed up with photos at the beautiful Rookery Building, and ending at the Chicago Theatre for photos with the marquee!
Northwestern University Graduation Portraits
The Northwestern Pritzker campus in downtown Chicago features a fun mix of more classic architecture and buildings with a modern flair. We made sure we had time with both! While I have to admit I prefer the look of the arches for framing a subject, I really enjoyed creating this dramatic portrait with the Hancock building in the background!
When you book a graduation photoshoot with me, we go over your likes, dislikes, hobbies, wardrobe, etc. I do my best to make sure we know each other before the photoshoot so you can feel comfortable and have a fun time during your photoshoot.
During the planning process, we have a detailed wardrobe and location consultation call to help determine how best to coordinate your outfits with your locations. In this case, I love how the bold red of my client’s suit pops against the ivy lined walls for her Northwestern graduation photos!

The next stop was the Pritzker Legal Research Center as a nod to the many hours of study my client put in at this library!
I love that she didn’t want just any old books, these are texts from her field of study!
Also couldn’t love more how her red suit pops against the blue of the bookshelves!
Commencement Location
Northwestern graduation from the Pritzker School of Law takes place at the Chicago Theatre in the heart of downtown Chicago! We planned my client’s photoshoot to end at the theater as the sun was setting so we could play up the lights. 🙂
It was a bit of a challenge because the marquee doesn’t actually have the Northwestern graduation message until the DAY OF graduation. It’s far too much to try to cram a photoshoot into your graduation day; too busy for you, and too many crowds in the background of your photos. I had my client take phone photos of the sign on the day of her graduation and I edited them in to match.
