Despite living in Oak Park and being an Oak Park senior photographer, many of my clients choose to have their senior photoshoots in Chicago. So, it was a pleasant change of pace to design a this senior photoshoot to celebrate my client’s love of her Oak Park hometown! I can’t wait to show you all the beautiful locations to be found in this town. 🙂

One of the parts I love best about the parks in Oak Park is that they have a beautiful mix of flowers and more natural, wild areas. This allows clients to get the best of both worlds and more variety in the background of their Oak Park senior pictures!

The best part about these more natural areas? You get the look of a forest preserve with the convenience of a downtown location (and fewer mosquitoes, too)!

I absolutely love the vibrancy of this mosaic as a backdrop for photos! The neutral palette of my client’s wardrobe allows her to really pop against the busy, saturated background. Not sure what to wear for your portraits? Not to worry – as an Oak Park senior photographer I offer both a comprehensive style guide as well as a wardrobe consultation Zoom call to ensure your wardrobe gives off the vibes you’re going for, and to pair each outfit with the backdrops we’ve chosen.

For our next stop, as a nod to her interest in theater, we made a stop by the beautiful Lake St Theater. Did you know this theater was built in the 1930s by the architecture firm that designed the Empire State Building in New York? Oak Park is an architecture lover’s dream, and it was fun to incorporate some of that history into my client’s photos.
Senior portraits are all about who you are right now, where you’ve come from, and where you’re headed next. I love the challenge of building a photoshoot that incorporates my clients’ interests, hobbies, and history. As your Oak Park senior photographer, senior portraits are so much more than just posing and looking pretty in a nice location.

Finishing our session with a stop by a cool amphitheater to continue showing off my client’s love of theater and drama! This was the perfect location to conclude with cap and gown portraits. 🙂 Regardless of when their photoshoot takes place, many of my clients like to bring along a cap and gown to stage a few photos for their graduation announcements. 🙂 You can easily find caps and gowns in any color on Amazon, or borrow regalia from a friend for your Oak Park senior pictures.
Client Review
“Kristen was a dream to work with for Senior photos! She was so professional and fun! From beginning to end she had all the answers and was such a joy to work with. We loved that her information and pricing was clear and up front and that she did several checkins during the whole planning process from style, locations, and outfits! She even scouts the location for the ideal spots and lighting. Her planning is above and beyond expectations!
I ended up getting sick and not able to join my husband and kids for the session but I wasn’t worried at all leaving it in Kristen’s capable hands! And the photos are gorgeous and will truly be treasured! Our album came speedy quick and looks so good! Overall a great experience for both me and our Senior!”
