I was so happy to do this lovely family’s Chicago front porch photoshoot! They welcomed a new baby girl recently and wanted to document her and their family during the pandemic. Front porch photoshoots became popular in the early days of the pandemic and it seems like the trend is sticking around! I love this type of photoshoot because it naturally involves storytelling and documentary work. I think they will especially cherish these images in years to come because it documents their home, a place that became extra-important to all of us during the pandemic.

This sweet baby girl was so interested in just quietly looking around and observing! As a mom myself she has me thinking about the children’s book Ferdinand. What did Ferdinand like to do? Just sit quietly and smell the flowers.
My favorite! Love this sweet moment between mother and daughter!
We had to get some a shot of all the ladies together for Mother’s Day!
If WordPress would let me make the heart eyes emoji, I would make it. How cute are these two?!
I love big sister’s joy for having a new little sister! As the mom of a pandemic baby myself, I can well appreciate the joy that a new baby can bring to this really weird and stressful pandemic. It’s so fun to watch a new baby see the world for the first time!
Ahhhh, what perfect light, and what a perfect subject!
I like to include some cute candid shots, too, so clients get a mix of different looks! These shots were actually after the photoshoot was over and I was chatting with Dad. I find it really hard to put my camera away after I start! Thanks again for letting me document your family and home!
