It was a true pleasure to be chosen as this client’s Livermore Senior Photographer! She came across a previous client’s shoot and wrote to me saying, “That! I want that!” More photos in Livermore’s iconic vineyards? Yes, please, sign me up!! I’m also so pleased to say that work from this photoshoot was published in Senior Luxe magazine!!
My client had a vision – she wanted Livermore’s rolling hills and grape vines in her senior photos to really represent the town. I loved that she wanted to walk barefoot among the grapes!
You would never know that these photos were taken at the end of November!! Livermore had gotten a fair bit of rain earlier in the month. The result was an incredible variety of colors on display! Grapes turning yellow, orange, and red at the end of their growing season while bright green grass sprouted.

I am SO PROUD to say that this photo was published in Senior Luxe Magazine Issue 2! Senior Luxe Magazine is “an online magazine and community that exists to offer educational resources to and give senior photographers nationwide an opportunity to share their work.” It was a true honor to be selected!
Love those lead lines with the grapes and that gorgeous sunshine glow on my client’s hair!
I’m a pretty bubbly person and love a good laughing shot or bright smile, but oh, is it lovely to have some variety in expressions! No worries, I will coach you through it and you’ll look great!
I love all the colors in this shot and how my client’s styling complements the autumn grape foliage so well!
I’m absolutely in love with my client’s smile! Doesn’t she look stunning?! The image on the left was published in Inspiring Teens Magazine!
I had a comment on Instagram about this shot that I found interesting: a follower mentioned that the trees in the background of the shot looked really light and “like they’d been watercolored!” While it’s true that the sun was right behind those trees brightening them up, the main reason why they’re brighter is something called “atmospheric compression!” This is a fancy way of saying that the air in between your eyes and the object you’re looking at (particularly) if it’s far away) diffuses the light and makes it appear brighter. Check it out for yourself sometime when you’re looking at things that are far away, particularly if you have hills and can see some hills that are closer and some that are more distant.
Ahem. All done with the science now. Promise.

Okay, I just love the framing of this shot with the grape leaf foreground! Could she GET any prettier? I mean, really! This photo was featured on senior photographer anthology Instagram account Inspiring Teens Magazine!
I love the hint of sun flare on this shot! This photoshoot was definitely one of my favorites from 2021. If you haven’t already, go check out part one of this beautiful photoshoot!
Here’s what my client had to say about her photoshoot!
After my long search for a photographer I found many beautiful photos that Kristen had previously taken of other seniors. I decided that I wanted her to take my senior photos and when emailing her she seemed like the perfect fit. She made sure that my photos where personal and asked me many questions about myself and what I wanted out of these photos. Not only was the communication wonderful, the shoot was so much fun. She made me feel so comfortable and confident, which I don’t often feel. Kristen was the best photographer I could have ever asked for and took amazing photos of me that I love. I am so happy with the whole experience and would be so glad to get the opportunity to shoot with her again!
