Who’s ready for some pretty Forest Park family photography? Is it you? Excellent. This delightful family originally reached out for the December photoshoot, then swapped to this mid-March date! I’m so glad they did because we got the perfect day for them with sunshine and warmth!
This photoshoot was in celebration of their daughter’s second birthday!
Love this closeup of Dad snuggling with his sweet little girl! This family could not have been more loving.
When I met my clients at the parking lot I was beyond delighted to see her hair up in little pigtails!! It’s such a cute and classic look, but my artist’s heart loves how the hairstyle mimics all the beautiful grasses we used as a backdrop!
Look at that sweet smile she had for her Mama!! Can you tell just how loved she is?
A quiet moment with Mom. I want to be sure we get some “smile for the camera for Grandma” shots, but also lots of more candid photos with more genuine moments. 🙂
As a toddler mom myself, I’m absolutely tickled by the simple joy a two year old has when they’ve got a stick. ?
Cannot get over what a cutie she is!

Toward the end of our shoot she requested to “go upside down” and of course we agreed! Do your kids like to jump? Explore? Dance? Twirl? I love capturing who they are *right now* and what they love to do!
I love her crinkly-nose smile!! It was just so much fun for us all to see her excitement and happiness at exploring a new location!
Towards the end of a photoshoot I love to capture some photos of just Mom and Dad. These two nailed it!
Here’s what my client had to say about their experience!
Kristen was an amazing person to work with. Excellent communication from the first email, very organized with examples of locations and styling suggestions. Quick to respond to any questions you may have. Kristen scouted the location in the week leading up to our shoot, and worked with us moving our scheduled shoot back a day to accommodate better weather (mid-March photoshoot in Chicago’s unpredictable winter/spring/mashup weather). Then meeting her in person on the day of the shoot was just fantastic. She gave great direction when needed, but allowed us to be a family and just interact in a natural way. Kristen has an easy going personality that made me, my husband, and my shy 2-year-old-daughter-that-had-never-met-her-before all comfortable. All this shows in the photos. They are simply the best family photos we’ve ever had done, and I’m grateful she was there to capture them. She found little moments of interaction that are just so special, and now I get to have them forever. Looking at our gallery makes this mama’s heart so happy!
