It was such a treat to meet up with this family again for some Cantigny Park photography! The mom reached out for a late winter photoshoot earlier this year, then wanted a reprise in early fall with both sets of grandparents. She said that their little girl was lucky enough to have all four grandparents part of her life and she wanted to celebrate that!
So this extended family photoshoot was all about this sweet little girl and her relationships with her grandparents. 🙂
With extended family photoshoots there are many variables that come into play. Out of state clients, hoping the weather will cooperate and coming up with a Plan B if it doesn’t! In this case we also needed a location near a bathroom for this potty-training toddler and close to a parking lot so the grandparents wouldn’t need to walk so far. I am so pleased to say that Cantigny Park in Wheaton, IL really fit the bill!
Benefits of Cantigny Park as a photoshoot location
It has disabled parking spots up front and a space for easy drop-offs, lots of beautiful and secluded nooks that are perfect for photoshoots, SO MANY FLOWERS, and even complimentary off-road wheelchair rentals (up until 5 PM when the front desk closes). Along with the aforementioned easy access to bathrooms for potty-training kiddos! Cantigny requires a $50 permit, and there is a $10 parking fee per car, but the benefits of this location more than makes up for the additional cost.
It was nice to get the grandparents some updated photos as a couple!
