When my client reached out for senior pictures with a car for her car-loving senior, I was delighted to take on this new-to-me-challenge.
I prefer not to photograph with flash and gels and smoke, which I feel sometimes can take away from the main focus of the photoshoot, which is of course, the senior! So here’s my take on senior pictures with a car, done with natural light.

We did this photoshoot with a beautiful Dodge Charger. One thing to consider is renting a favorite car for some extra fun for your photoshoot!

Leaning against the hood is always fun for a closeup shot of you, the car, and your personality!
The Squat
A favorite for a reason – this pose gets you down on the same level as your car and really helps show it off!
Inside the Car
One of my favorite poses for senior pictures with a car. Being seated inside the car lets the photographer frame the shot from different angles, showing off both the car, and your personality.
The Adjacent
Standing or posing next to the car allows for wide-angle shots that show not only the breadth of the vehicle, but also the location of the photoshoot. We’ll lean into these poses if we’re at a fun location! In addition, we will also be moving the car into different orientations during your photoshoot to craft how the car looks with the backdrop in mind.
